High tech, high touch, higher visibility

We employ and do business with all generations - traditional, boomers, the x's and y's, the next and the millenials - in 10 more years there will be another category and we will we do business with them too. So, we needed to broaden our scope of communication; sending out e-mails, printed materials and seminars used to be the best ways to communicate with our employees and clients and prospects. Yet as Triumvirate ages, generations cycle and it is imperative that we educate ourselves on how each generation likes to receive information and employ those methods.

On April 1, 2008, Triumvirate Environmental launched a new web site complete with blogs, vlogs and a live HR chat. On May 20th, we started our first weekly podcast series. In the same week, the podcasts became available on iTunes.

On June 5, we will present our first webinar - this was originally pursued to bridge the gap between Triumvirate's branches, and will now allows us to do live remote trainings.

We continue to send out printed materials, e-mails and put on roundtables - but now we have several more options for our employees/prospects/clients to receive information. And this becomes increasing important to offer our recipients to choose their preferred method of receiving information.

GREEN WITH RESPONSIBILITY

For more that 14 years I've been conceptualizing marketing and branding campaigns. Some with the goal to heighten awareness, others to create brand equity; however, not one had the underlying tone of environmental responsibility. In fact, in never occurred to neither my clients nor myself that whatever promise we developed that we needed to instill in the buying public that 'when you buy from us, you are buying from an environmentally conscious company.'

So now that I work for a company whose last name is 'ENVIRONMENTAL', I have the inherent responsibility to market, brand, and purchase with sustainability in mind.

Example: One of my co-workers wanted Triumvirate Branded Bid Binders. Sounds easy enough, however, the challenge was to find a company who :

a)not only produces high-quality full color binders in various sizes, but
b)recycles their binders and encourages customers to recycle their old binders.

Through our network of suppliers, we found American Thermoplastics, a company who has won national awards for their recycling program called Environmentally Bound.

The result is win-win for both Triumvirate Environmental and the environment.

Can you site any sustainable advances at either your company or another company you know of? Post it here!
